Our Programmes

Freshwinds provides services that work in a holistic way to support the needs of each individual. Our programmes work with people with a range of issues that include health, welfare, advocacy, equality, discrimination and debt.

FInDA Employment and Training

Based in Selly Oak our services are offered City Wide. The free service can be accessed by anyone seeking advice and guidance regarding their employment and training needs. We are currently working with several Children’s Centres providing pre-employment training courses to parents.

Delivered within these courses are a variety of soft skills including confidence building, teamwork and motivation.
We also provide accredited training such as Health Safety or food hygiene to ensure the people have a valuable qualification to present to employers. One -to-one advice sessions are delivered on request, providing support with CV building, job search and other employment tools.

Birmingham Living Archive

Have you or a member of your family been affected by HIV?
Do you live, or access HIV services, in Birmingham?

Then the Living Archive would like to hear from you. We are a multi-agency project that is documenting the experiences of people living with, and affected by, HIV in Birmingham. The project will challenge the ignorance, stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV and raise awareness of our HIV heritage, which will give hope to those currently living with the virus. The archive will present the challenges that were overcome to achieve where we are today and highlight the challenges that we still face. The archive will celebrate our heritage, tell our story, educate, and raise the profile of the Birmingham HIV sector, the work we do and the services that are available in the city.
